The Celestron CGX-L is a heavy-duty computerized GoTo German equatorial mount built for demanding visual observers and serious astrophotographers. With an exceptional 75 lb (34 kg) load capacity, larger worm wheels, a longer dovetail saddle and massive stainless steel tripod legs, it carries large optical tubes and full imaging trains with rock-solid stability and precise tracking.

Features

  • 75 lb load capacity: exceptional load capacity to weight ratio for large optical tubes and imaging payloads.
  • Larger 144 mm worm wheels: drive heavier loads more smoothly and accurately.
  • Longer 270 mm dovetail saddle: better supports larger optical tubes.
  • Massive 70 mm stainless steel tripod legs: wider stance for improved stability under heavy loads.
  • Internal cabling: power input and lower accessory ports stay stationary as the mount slews to avoid snags during remote operation.
  • Additional Aux and autoguider ports: mounted on the Dec axis for better cable management.
  • Spring-loaded brass worm wheel and steel worm gear: reduce friction and provide optimum gear mesh.
  • Celestron PWI software included: co-developed with PlaneWave Instruments, with multi-point mount modeling for precise pointing.
  • Adjustable EQ head and integrated handles: optimize center of gravity over the 3 degrees to 65 degrees latitude range and ease transport.
